The book mainly deals with the questions such as 'How to build a habit?' and 'How to break a habit?' It also focuses on consistency while building a habit.

The book divides itself into 4 parts in which both how to build the habit and its converse are explained. The topics are 'Make it Obvious', 'Make it Attractive', 'Make it Easy', and 'Make it Satisfying'. The author uses this law to explain the process of building a habit and its converse to break one. The author explains the process of habit as 'Cue', 'Craving', 'Response', and 'Reward'.
